Stock up on bargain books at St Peter’s book sale

Booklovers are in for a treat as St Peter’s opens its doors for another bargain book sale in the Church this Easter.

The used book sale has become a regular and much-anticipated fixture in the Church calendar where everyone is welcome to pop in, browse the books, and enjoy a cup of tea and a chat.

With more literary titles than ever, plus an impressive array of homemade tasty treats, the latest event is shaping up to be one of the best yet.

A huge part of the appeal is the sheer volume of titles at bargain prices (you can get three paperbacks for £1) and also that the preloved books are donated by the community for the community. There is a wide range of genres on offer including general fiction, classics, thrillers, biographies, cookery, history, poetry as well as a good Welsh language and Children’s section.

Planet-conscious bookworms know that buying second hand not only saves money but helps protect the environment too. As well as a good read, the four-day event offers for sale a selection of handmade cards, toys, games, puzzles, and a raffle. There is also a tempting range of delicious homemade cakes, jams, and chutneys - all made by church members and friends.

St Peter’s Church Book Sale is on Wednesday April 3rd from 11.30am-3pm. The sale then runs on Thursday 4th, Friday 5th and Saturday 6th from 10am- 2pm. Entry is free, and everyone is welcome. All funds from the sale will go to St Peter’s Church.

St Peter's Church has a history stretching back nearly a thousand years and houses many features of historic interest which include some of the finest wall memorials in Wales. It is the oldest building in continuous use in Carmarthen and provides a stunning backdrop for the book sale.
